Shipadmin POB Solutions

Our philosophy

Our Personnel-on-Board (POB) solutions are based on zone control using RFID technology

One card for all purposes!

We make systems that fit together. One ID card is used for several purposes and controlled by one software.

persononboard
  1. As an ID card with company name, company logo, name, position and photo of person
  2. To get access at the gangway
  3. To get access to the cabin
  4. To get access to restricted areas
  5. As electronic head-count at muster station
  6. To register meals
  7. To register laundry services
  8. To register participation in mandatory drills
  9. To register participation in mandatory meetings

When the crewmember disembark, the card will no longer be valid onboard. If the person lost his the card it can easily be replaced with a new one, making the old ID card invalid.

The system uses Shipadmin Vessel Manager as its managing software. This means that no "third party" software is needed to run the system. All readers are directly connected to the Shipadmin Vessel Manager. The system are tailored to your needs. Please see different options of equipment and technical solutions.

Shipadmin Gangway Security

Shipadmin gangway reader comes with two x RFID readers. This solution is based on “voluntary” registration, as there is no physical barrier. Personnel equipped with RFID cards swipe their card when passing the reader, either in or out. All registrations are available in Shipadmin Vessel Manager Software.

Shipadmin Gangway Reader has been installed in heli-reception on some vessels to register who is leaving/arriving by helicopter.

Option 1 -Turnstile

Shipadmin turnstile comes with in-built camera, telephone and two x RFID readers. If turnstile and remote monitoring being described method for access-control in vessel ISPS manual at level 1, manned gangway may not be required.
Built in telephone will be connected to ships PABX and call from gangway will be routed to required internal telephone i.e. bridge or watch phone. Gangway camera will be connected to vessel video matrix and gives the option to monitor gangway from any network station having access to video matrix. In Shipadmin Vessel Manager Software you can keep track of all entries and exits and at all-time know who is on-board or ashore.

Option 3 - Magnetic Door Lock

Magnetic door lock is often used for access control on vessels designed with an enclosed entry hall, i.e. when coming up the gangway, you will first enter an enclosed space. For further entry into the vessel you have to swipe your RFID card to open the door. This solution can be combined with the same integration as on turnstile (Telephone, camera and RFID readers) Magnetic lock can be used on various types of doors. Will be fitted with overriding exit button, emergency exit (break glass type) and opening relay connected to vessel alarm system. System may replace the watchman at the gangway / entrance.

Shipadmin Electronic Muster Reader

Shipadmin delivers various solutions for electronic registration of crew/personnel on muster station. All four options are based on RFID technology and option 2, 3 and 4 can be combined with manual registration locally on muster station (In case personnel show up without card). Option 1 requires manual input directly from software i.e. at bridge computer.

Electronic Muster Reader used in combination with Electronic Gangway Reader gives the option to see who is not currently on-board and may not be present during mustering.

All online solutions make it possible for the officers to monitor in real time when crew/personnel is present at the muster station.

Option 1 -Fixed Muster Station

RFID reader installed permanently in the vicinity of vessel muster station(s), requires a cat. 6 or 7 cable from server room to desired location. (Not included)

Unit can only take input electronically from an RFID card. If manual input/override is required, this can only be done in software and on a computer connected to the network.

When the alarm sets off, the unit will be collected from the docking station containing the most recent muster list and brought to the actual muster station. At the muster station, personnel swipe their card on the backside of the unit for electronic registration. If a person has left his/her card behind, manual registration can be done by a tap on the actual name. (Touch screen)

For reporting back to Vessel Manager Software the unit has to be docked again
